La Cisternata - Montaione

Montaione, area of the Roman cistern. Dedicated to the young and to rock music fans, this festival takes place just a few feet away from the ancient Roman cistern in Montaione, and today it is the main event of the summer in the town. In addition to the live concerts by various groups, there are also food and wine tastings, workshops, aperitifs and a craft market. There is also a special area dedicated to reggae music.

Il Palio di San Cassiano si svolge la domenica precedente la festa di San Cassiano (13 agosto), patrono di San Casciano dei Bagni. La manifestazione ha inizio con un corteo in costumi rinascimentali, che, percorrendo un tratto dell’antica strada che collega San Casciano alle Terme, giunge alla Porta di accesso al paese e dà inizio ai giochi.
The Palio of San Cassiano takes place the sunday before the feast of Saint Cassiano (August 13th), patron saint of San Casciano dei Bagni. The event begins with a parade in Renaissance costumes moving along the old road connecting San Casciano to the ancient Spas, arriving at the town gate and starting the games.

On this exceptional day a medieval town comes back to life with its performances, events, tradesmen, artisans, musicians, jugglers, populace and nobles. A unique occasion to experience, as if by magic, medieval times in one of the most beautiful cities in Tuscany.  

The town centre comes to life with a never ending past, rich colourful performances and music, while in the archaeological park the countryside comes back to life.The village with its peasant farmers, shepherds, the monastery and monks, the courtyard animals and the military camps welcome the visitors who can enjoy performances with arms and falconry. A special area will be dedicated to children.

Il Palio dell'Imperatore di Suvereto si svolge ogni 14 di agosto con la consueta corsa delle botti. La manifestazione nasce per ricordare l'Imperatore del Sacro Romano Impero Arrigo VII di Lussemburgo, poichè le sue spoglie sostarono per un periodo nel castello di Suvereto. 
The Palio of the Emperor in Suvereto takes place very August 14th with the usual barrel race. The event was born to remember the Emperor of the Sacred Roman Empire Arrigus VII of Louxemburg, as the relics of his body remained for a while in the castle of Suvereto.

Palio delle contrade di Piancastagnaio nasce nel lontano XVI secolo come manifestazione ludica per divertire i signori feudali. In piena estate, dal 16 al 24 agosto, in occasione del patrono del paese San Bartolomeo, si organizzano balli, fiere, sfilate e competizioni.
The Palio of Piancastagnaio was born in 17th century as a feast for the local feudal lords. Taking place in the middle of Summer, from August 16th to August 24th, for the Saint Patron's day (Saint Bartholomew) the place comes alive with dances, fairs, parades and competitions.

Palio delle Contrade - Gambassi Terme
The ‘Palio delle Contrade’ of Gambassi Terme involves the four districts of the town: Membrino; i’Porcello; La Pieveand Belvedere who compete in different activities before the traditional corsa delle bigonce (“Pannier race”) which closes the competition.
During the Palio, the historic centre of Gambassi is brought to life with street entertainment, processions, concerts and stands which sell typical local products.

Palio del Cerro - Cerreto Guidi
The Palio del Cerro which takes place on the first Sunday of September, began over forty years ago, takes its inspiration from a traditional horse race carried out in honour of Saint Liberata, patron saint of Cerreto Guidi.
The competitors from the four districts of the town compete in five competitions: tug of war, a race on stilts, race in wooden  tubs used for wine making, throwing of rings (women only) and crossbow shooting.
The prize for the winning district consists in a traditional banner (palio) created every year by a different prestigious artist,
