A major exhibition dedicated to Andrea del Verrocchio (Florence 1435 - Venice, 1488), one of the greatest masters of the fifteenth century, which also houses works by artists such as Pietro Perugino, Domenico Ghirlandaio and Leonardo da Vinci, his most famous pupil. Curated by Francesco Caglioti and Andrea De Marchi and born from the collaboration with the Museo Nazionale del Bargello, which houses a section, the exhibition celebrates an artist who as a painter, sculptor, goldsmith and draftsman was a brilliant interpreter of the values of the Renaissance.

Lucca Summer Festival

Let's start with the historic appointment with Lucca Summer Festival, the kermsse held in the heart of the city, in Piazza Napoleone. Palio di Siena

Palio di Siena
Siena Palio is a very famous bare-back horse race round the sand-covered Piazza del Campo that takes place every 2 July and 16 August. The contrade (town neighbourhoods) compete for the palio ( banner) dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The square is filled with costumed pageantry before the race and afterwards massive feasts are set up on long outdoor tables that can stretch for blocks on the side streets. Tickets for favoured locations provided with seating are expensive but a good view of the race can also be obtained from the middle of the piazza where a large crowd stands

Pistoia Blues

From 5 to 10 July 2019 the historic Pistoia Blues returns for five days, bringing great interpreters and legends of rock and international blues to the historic center of the city since 1980.
This year they will bring their blues to the stage, Black Stone Cherry, followed by Thirty Seconds To Mars and the day after by Eric Gales along with Robben Ford. July 8th will be the turn of Noel Gallagher & The High Flying Birds, while Ben Harper with Innocent Criminals will close the festival on July 10th.

Medieval Festival - Monteriggioni

History has never been so much fun: people dressed up in historical costumes, the possibility to watch a challenge tournament between thirteenth century knights, a battle with piker men, halberdiers, infantrymen and harquebusiers. The fortress of Monteriggioni will be animated by jesters, street artists, jugglers, men on stilts musicians and minstrels. You will even have the possibility to watch the enactment of medieval scenes proposed by improvised actors on the streets. Forget the Euro, after going through the fortress gates you will use ancient coins that have been minted in Lucca. How to get them? You’ll find bankers with their safety deposits offering an exchange service. The objective of the Festival is to re-create a setting which is so complete that the visitor is transported back in time. Believe me: it’s fun and at least once in a lifetime you should live this medieval atmosphere.

Musart Festival

Great names for the Musart Festival in Florence, scheduled from 13 to 24 July 2019 with open-air concerts in Piazza della Santissima Annunziata.
Among the artists who will go on stage is Caetano Veloso, legend of Brazilian music, the ethos of Roberto Bolle, Francesco De Gregori, Danilo Rea, Nicola Piovani and many others. The festival closes with a special event: the concert by pianist Danilo Rea at dawn, Wednesday 24 July.

The medieval fantasy festival which attracts thousands of fans of role play and comics and has become one of the most important in Italy.

The town is totally closed to traffic and is arranged in three thematic areas which are transformed into exceptional scenes with elfs, magicians, pirates and fantastical creatures.

A succession of performances, role playing games, concerts, contests, cosplay, tournaments and conferenceswith important authors and illustrators of Italian cartoons and with international fantasy characters.

Beat Festival

In Empoli we find the Beat Festival, which returns in the Park of Serravalle on August 30th and 31st and then on September 1st, 5th and 6th 2019, with concerts, DJ sets but also an area with street food and craft beer.

Venice effect

In Livorno from 31 July to 4 August the most important summer party in the city returns: Effetto Venezia. The event for five evenings animates the historic district of La Venezia, so named because it is characterized by bridges and navigable canals.

Five days of music, cinema and special events in Rispescia, in the heart of the Maremma Park with Festambiente, the historic festival organized by Legambiente which returns from 14 to 18 August 2019.
